Landscapes, figures and still lifes done in oil
constitute the bulk of my work.
In addition to the contemporary painters with whom I
have studied, influences
include such greats as John Singer Sargent, early
California impressionists and illustrators such as
Howard Pyle, Dean Cornwell and N C Wyeth.
My wife
Kathy and I live in Lufkin, Texas, but I often travel to
paint the landscapes of Texas, Colorado, New Mexico and
elsewhere in the U S.
Time between trips is spent creating studio landscapes
from plein air
studies, painting still lifes, portraits and
figures.
